What is the UN Democracy Caucus, and how is CCD involved?

On September 22, 2004, the Community of Democracies took a bold step toward the fulfillment of its founding principles. For the first time, the entire body of the Community of Democracies met at the United Nations. This exciting meeting, chaired by Chile, resulted in a series of reports, most of which may be found below.

  • September 22, 2004 - The first gathering of Ministerial representatives at the UNGA meeting in New York
  • September 17, 2004- NGO/Ministerial Meeting preceding the UNGA meeting. Hosted by Democracy Coalition Project at the United Nations in New York City, attended by Ambassador Munoz of Chile
