At
the inception of the Bush Administration and since then,
joined with other NGOs to ensure the engagement
of the White House and Department of State in the CD process;
Played
the lead role, as recommended by the Seoul CD Conference,
in building a network of NGOs working with governments and
multilateral institutions tofoster
democracy education around the world;
Assisted
through consultations with leading academics and democracy
practitioners in Washington in developing the Democracy
Project at Bennington College, focusing all social
science and humanities disciplines on a core “democracy”
curriculum;
Fostered
a public dialogue on how governments, civil
society and business can eliminate the world’s remaining
dictators through peaceful means and promote and preserve
democracy worldwide.
