Regional Chief, HUDCO, Kolkata to look after the activities
of HUDCO in the States of West Bengal and Sikkim, with additional
responsibilities for the Orissa Cyclone Rehabilitation project
as well as Business Development in the East and North Eastern
States in India. Graduated in Civil Engineering, with post-graduate
work in disaster mitigation and undergraduate study in law.
Has worked in the field of development, especially with respect
to housing and infrastructure for the last 16 years. Imparts
and disseminates appropriate technology options to the grassroot
level. Currently associated with University of Westminister,
London and DFID (UK) in carrying out a research program on
"community assets management". Has a strong interest
in cost effective energy efficient building material and technology
options with specific thrust into housing the marginalised
sections of the society and disaster mitigation efforts predominant
in the Indian territory. President of a culturally ethnic
group in the state of Orissa "pragati", Vice President
of Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar, Working President of Bengali
Society, Cuttack and Director of Orissa State Housing Board,
Sewerage and Water Supply Board, Orissa Rural Housing Development
Corporation. Also the Chairman of Infrastructure Panel of
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Eastern Region.
