Dieudonné Zognong, Cameroon:
Both as scholar and activist, Dieudonné Zognong has shown his commitment to human rights and democracy promotion for over fifteen years. He has regularly collaborated with the United Nations in Geneva and New York, and relevant NGOs. Currently he serves as the Executive Director and senior human rights trainer at the Humanus Foundation, a Cameroon-based organization with Special Consultative Status with United Nations (ECOSOC). He lectures human rights and political philosophy in Cameroon universities. He is the author of articles and educational publications in democracy and human rights, including “The Bamiléké question during the democratic broadening in Cameroon,” edited by Unesco in Paris in 2000. He is the publisher of the Governance Alert bulletin in Cameroon. He is member of several important democracy networks, including The International Steering Committee of the Non-Governmental Process of the Community of Democracies, and The African Democracy Forum’s Management Committee. He is a regular participant of the World Movement for Democracy's annual Assemblies, and the National Coordinator of the Cameroon Coalition for the International Criminal Court.
