Critique of the International Community's Handling of the Crisis in Guinea

CCD board member and former ambassador Hank Cohen recently wrote an article published in the Journal of International Peace Operations, entitled, "Guinea: the Inevitable Tragedy." In it, Mr. Cohen provides background to President Camara's rise to power and a fresh perspective on current events in the country. Additionally, he sheds light on the difficulties in mediating the current crisis in Guinea, most particularly due to the overzealousness of international actors to condemn the military government without seeking pragmatic solutions.
