Pacific Rim Democracies hold Meeting in Taipei

This article from the Taiwan Journal details the meeting of the first Democratic Pacific Assembly, a group based in Asia with a mission strikingly similar to that of the CD. Taiwan, along with participants from 24 countries, agreed to work towards transforming this assembly into a “Democratic Pacific Union” – a partnership of democratic nations that will support and further democratic efforts in Asia and the Pacific Rim. Conferences such as this reflect the global need for a Community of Democracies.
