It is
with great sorrow that we advise you that Walt died, last
evening 16 April, at the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington.
I think all of us who knew and worked with him, can identify
with what was just said by a close friend and colleague of
Walt's, not in CCD, on hearing of his death, "No matter
what Walt did it always came back to the cause of democracy
to which he devoted so many years of his life. I feel more
obligation to support the Community of Democracies movement
than ever before, as a result".
