John Brademas

Mr. Brademas represented Indiana in the House of Representatives from 1959-81. He was a member of the Democratic leadership serving as House Majority Whip during the 94th and 95th Congresses. As a member of the Committee of Education and Labor he played a leading role in drafting legislation on education. Since leaving Congress he served as President of New York University from 1981-92. He is currently Chairman of the President’s Committee on Arts and Humanities and the American Ditchley Foundation. He has been Chairman of the National Endowment for Democracy.
