Frank C. Carlucci

Mr. Carlucci’s distinguished career in government has included service as Secretary of Defense (1987-89), Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs (1986-87), Deputy Director of the CIA (1978-81), Ambassador to Portugal (1975-78), Under Secretary of the Department of Health, Education and Welfare (1972-74), associate Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and Director of the Office of Economic Opportunity (1970). Since January 2003, he has been Chairman Emeritus of the Carlyle Group, where he served as Chairman from 1993 to 2003.
