Jeffrey Gedmin

Dr. Gedmin is currently the President and CEO of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty as of March 2007. Prior to his appointment to this positions, Dr. Gedmin served as Director of the Aspen Institute in Berlin, Germany. Formerly he worked as resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, and as executive director of the New Atlantic Initiative. Gedmin’s articles have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, the Financial Times, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the Sueddeutsche Zeitung, the New Republic, National Review, and the Weekly Standard. He is the author of The Hidden Hand: Gorbachev and the Collapse of East Germany (1992) and editor of European Integration and the American Interest (AEI Press, 1997) and A Single European Currency? (AEI Press, 1997). He was executive editor and producer of the award winning PBS television program, The Germans, Portrait of a New Nation.
