Dennis M. Hertel

Mr. Hertel represented the 14th District of Michigan in Congress from 1981 to 1992. Since leaving the Congress he has practiced law, has been a consultant and has been the Vice Chairman of the National Environmental Policy Institute. During his service in Congress he chaired the Oceanography and Great Lakes Subcommittee, and the Investigations and Oversight Subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee. He also was the Democratic Whip of the Michigan Delegation. Earlier in his career he served from 1974-80 in the Michigan State House of Representatives. Mr. Hertel is now a Senior Counselor with the Livingtston Group in Washington, D.C.
